High-quality EPDM rubber glazing weatherstrip that presses and wedges between the glass and retaining metal frame of RV windows. Replaces shrunk, cracked, or hardened vinyl or plastic window edge glazing. Seals against weather and foreign elements, eliminates noise and vibration. Commonly replaces Hehr window part #009-842. UV resistant — will not shrink, crack, or fade. Available in black (this item) and white. 20 ft pre-cut strip. Also known as 70-3857-256. Hand crafted, made in USA.
Window edge weatherstrip — also called window edge glazing — is the rubber seal that sits in the channel between your RV window glass and the retaining metal frame that holds it in place. Over time, the original vinyl or plastic glazing installed at the factory shrinks, hardens, cracks, or pulls away from the frame, leaving gaps that allow weather infiltration, noise, vibration, and eventually water damage. The Steele Rubber Products 90-3723-256 is a direct EPDM rubber replacement for that original glazing — a durable upgrade over the vinyl and plastic materials that degrade faster in outdoor conditions.
Installation is a press-and-wedge process: the seal is pressed into the channel between the glass and the retaining metal frame, where it fills the gap, grips both surfaces, and forms a weathertight seal around the full perimeter of the window. No adhesive is required for the main run, though adhesive can be used at corners to secure the ends. A tuck tool is recommended for working the seal evenly into the channel around the full window perimeter, especially on corners.
The 3/4" H x 5/16" W profile is one of the two most common RV window edge glazing sizes used across a wide range of manufacturers and models. This seal is specifically noted to generally replace Hehr window part #009-842 as used in Hehr-manufactured windows — one of the most widely used RV window brands across major manufacturers including Jayco, Forest River, Keystone, Winnebago, and many others. Always pull back a corner of your existing glazing and compare the profile dimensions before ordering.
Wedges between window glass and retaining metal frame to fill the glazing channel — seals against weather and foreign elements, eliminates noise and vibration from loose or degraded original glazing

UV resistant — will not shrink, crack, or fade; durable EPDM rubber maintains flexibility and sealing performance long after original vinyl or plastic window glazing has hardened and failed
Known to fit Airstream, Coachmen, Cruiser RV, East to West, Forest River, Grand Design, Heartland, Jayco, Keystone, Lippert Glass, Prime Time, Thor, Tiffin, and Winnebago models
Window edge glazing must match the channel depth and gap width of your specific window frame to fit correctly. Before ordering, carefully pull back a corner of your existing window glazing and examine the profile from the end. Compare the height (3/4") and width (5/16") against your current glazing profile. The 3/4" H x 5/16" W profile (this item) is one of the two most common RV window glazing sizes. If your existing glazing measures approximately 1/2" H x 1/4" W, you will need the smaller profile instead. Steele Rubber offers the window edge trim in a sample pack to help confirm fit before purchasing a full length. Compatibility is not guaranteed — always verify against your specific window before ordering.

Recommended Supplies: Tuck tool (for pressing seal into channel), adhesive remover, clean cloth, tape measure, scissors or utility knife. Adhesive is optional for corners. Basic Installation Steps: 1. Remove the Window: For best results, carefully remove the window from the frame and place it face-down on a protected surface — this makes it easier to work around the full perimeter evenly 2. Remove Old Glazing: Carefully pull out the existing window edge glazing from the channel. A tuck tool helps lift the old seal without scratching the glass or frame 3. Clean the Channel: Remove all adhesive residue, dirt, and debris from the glazing channel. Adhesive remover is helpful if the original glazing was bonded. The channel must be clean for the new seal to seat properly 4. Confirm Fit: Before installing the full length, test-fit a short section of the new seal in the channel to confirm the 3/4" H x 5/16" W profile fills the gap correctly 5. Measure & Cut: Measure the window perimeter and cut the seal to length 6. Press & Wedge: Starting at one corner, press the seal firmly into the channel around the full window perimeter — use the tuck tool to work the seal evenly into position and seat it fully in the channel 7. Secure Corners (Optional): Apply a small amount of adhesive to the corner joints for added security, then allow to cure before reinstalling the window
