The rocker switch is the user-facing control mechanism on the switchgear box — it is the physical switch pressed to extend or retract the hydraulic jack. Over time, switches can wear out, break, or become unresponsive, and the 1557 allows the switch mechanism to be replaced without discarding the entire switchgear box and harness assembly.
The 1557 is the switch mechanism only — the switchgear box and wiring harness are not included. This is the correct part when the rocker switch itself has failed but the box and harness are intact. If the box or harness also needs replacement, order the full switchgear assembly for your system (such as #6526 for single switch, square black 4-pin systems).
EQ Systems uses two different switch types across its product lines, and it is important to confirm which type your system uses before ordering: Rocker switch (#1557 — this part): Used in EQ Systems hydraulic jack leveling switchgear assemblies (such as #6526, #6540, #6704, #7814, #7815, #7816). A rocker switch rocks back and forth between two positions. Rotary switch (#7779): Used in EL Pac 1 and EL Pac 2 electric jack add-on systems only. A rotary switch turns on a dial. If your system is an EL Pac electric add-on for a tongue jack, you need the #7779 rotary switch kit, not the 1557.
The 1557 contains the rocker switch mechanism only. The switchgear box and wiring harness are not included. If your switchgear box or harness is also damaged, order the appropriate full switchgear assembly for your system instead of the switch kit alone.
