The EQ Systems 1444 is the OEM direct replacement motor solenoid for select EQ Systems hydraulic pump assemblies used on trailers, motorized units, and RV leveling systems. The motor solenoid acts as a high-current relay between the battery and the pump motor — when the control system sends a signal to operate the jacks, the solenoid switches the full battery current to the motor. Without a functioning solenoid, the pump motor receives no power and the jacks will not operate.
Solenoids are subject to high electrical load over their service life and can fail due to contact wear, corrosion, or coil burnout. A direct drop-in replacement, the 1444 restores full pump motor operation on any of its ten compatible S-series pump models.
The motor solenoid has two circuits: a low-current exciter circuit that triggers the solenoid, and a high-current main circuit that powers the motor. When the jack switch is pressed, the control system applies voltage to the solenoid's small exciter terminal — the solenoid should produce an audible "click" as the contacts close and send power to the motor. To test the solenoid: With the system powered, press the jack switch and listen for a click at the solenoid. If no click is heard, apply 12V directly to the small exciter terminal. If the solenoid still does not click with voltage applied, the solenoid is defective. If it clicks but the motor does not run, the fault may be in the motor itself rather than the solenoid.
